SANTA CLARA, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Dec. 7, 2005— Sequence Design, the EDA (Electronic Design Automation) technology leader in low-power design, has been named one of siliconindia magazine's top 100 companies founded and managed by Indians. This prestigious award goes to those companies best exemplifying entrepreneurship, innovation, and market leadership.

"This is a huge honor," said Kulkarni. "It is especially gratifying for the entire Sequence team to be publicly recognized for their hard work and dedication."

"Companies making our Top 100 are not all large, not all small, but they do have the common trait of excellence," said Harvi Sachar, chief editor, siliconindia. "We are very pleased to recognize Sequence for its commitment to excellence in all facets of its business."

One of the significant areas of merit for Sequence is market leadership: Sequence supplies software that enables the design of low-power semiconductors. Consumer electronics is dominated by portable devices -- MP3 players, cell phones, laptops -- all of which must get the most out of their batteries. The challenge for chip designers is to increase the capabilities of silicon while minimizing battery usage; that's where Sequence comes in.

Sequence has developed technology to reduce power early in the chip-design process so they meet their target power consumption without redesign and schedule delays. Sequence also helps designers deliver power more evenly on their chips in order to avoid costly failures caused by power noise.

A company with global reach, Sequence maintains sales, support, and R&D facilities in the United States, Japan, and in India. In the past five years, Sequence has invested Rs. 20 Crores (over $4.5 million) in its India-based R&D operations alone. Sequence president and CEO Vic Kulkarni has shown leadership and innovation in his establishment of a strong international corporate culture. The company has a growing customer base of multinational semiconductor companies in India, particularly in Bangalore's technology-rich environment, and has recently expanded its "Center of Excellence" in Noida's Logix Techno Park.
